Throwing A Kindergarten Graduation Party
It’s so fun to see your child grow up. It seems like one minute, you are holding them for the first time, and the next they’re starting school, making new friends, and learning all kinds of things. Kindergarten is a time when your child learns crucial skills like motor skills, making friends, and being kind to others. Even though these skills are basic, they are building blocks children will use for the rest of their lives. Celebrating all they’ve learned in kindergarten will help instill confidence in your child, plus it’s fun! There’s no better way to celebrate finishing their first year of school than with a graduation ceremony.
Here are a few ways to make your child’s kindergarten graduation memorable.
The first thing you’ll want to do is to send out graduation party invites to family and friends. You can even have your child help create the invites with a custom stationery company, like Basic Invite. All of their designs are customizable, and they have so many to choose from. You’re bound to find adorable grad invites you and your kindergartener with love! It will be so fun for your little grad to send out invitations they helped make.
After the invites are sent out, it’s time to plan some activities for the graduation party. You can plan a mini commencement ceremony for your little grad. Have them dress up, and print out a kindergarten graduation certificate. Set up a podium in your backyard. Or, if you don’t have a podium lying around your house, use a small bedside table or tall chair instead. Have your grad and any of their friends attending walk up to accept their diplomas. Get caps and gowns for all the graduates to wear. And don’t forget to take pictures! You can save the photos from their mini graduation and hang them next to photos of their high school graduation in a few years.
If your child’s school is already holding a graduation ceremony, you can do other graduation-themed activities instead. One option is to have the kids make memory books of the last school year. You can pick up a few booklets and art supplies at the thrift store for the kids to use. Paints, brushes, ribbon, glue, crayons, and colored pencils are all good for decorating. You can have the kids paint pictures of their classmates, or provide them with a few photos from the school year to decorate.
However you choose to celebrate your child’s kindergarten graduation, I hope you all have fun. Finishing a school year is a huge accomplishment, at any age. Congratulations to you and your little graduate!
