Staying Healthy During Pregnancy
Here are my current go-to products at 21 weeks pregnant as well as how I modified my usual wellness routine to work during pregnancy.
I had to stop taking some of my supplements as well as eat more regularly. Make sure to consult a specialist if you are taking a lot of supplements and get pregnant. Many that I took which in theory helped get pregnant you actually need to stop right away once you do get pregnant.
I kept most of my morning routine – celery juice, coffee and lemon water. I started eating earlier in the morning to avoid feeling sick instead of following intermittent fasting and waiting to lunch.
Bumpin Blends has filled in perfectly as a more substantial morning option with their smoothies that are personalized to my exact stage of pregnancy and symptoms. You can order a regular subscription that arrives every two weeks or choose from pre-set bundles. Use our special code “LOCALMAMA” for 20% off!
I switched to prenatal pilates at Mighty Pilates and cut back a bit on other activities that were too strenuous for now. I substituted with doing 2-3 miles per day of walking or hiking.
Since this is my second baby, I definitely noticed rapid expansion earlier this time around and just didn’t feel like being uncomfortable. So I switched to maternity sports bras from Kindred Bravely and jeans + tees from Hatch. Both are good quality and will last into the first year of new baby life so those investments made sense. I focused on a few basics that I know I will get repetitive wear out of and will be able to wear while nursing too.
I’ve largely been able to stay in my regular workout pants from Lululemon + Beyond Yoga but I can see that changing soon as I want more back and stomach support. Ones on my list to try are Blanqi and Belly Bandit.
